COVID-19 PROTOCOL

The skills sessions are subject and not limited to the following conditions which may change subject to public health regulations, We are all doing our part to limit the spread of COVID-19.

Please follow all public health guidelines and respect physical distancing.  Please wear a mask covering your face and nose when entering the arena and at all times inside except when on the ice and exiting the facility pursuant to City of Ottawa Order.

Health Check
Please do not visit the Minto SC facility if:
You are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19
You have been in contact with someone in the last 14 days who is known to have tested positive for COVID-19 or has had symptoms of COVID-19.
You have been outside of Canada in the last 14 days
In the last 14 days, if have attended an event or gathering (including sports tournament) other than those which are permitted under Ontario's current re-opening phase.  You are asked to refrain from participating in any activity at the Minto Skating Centre facility until a 14 day period passing, symptom-free

Entering the Facility

All participants will be greeted at the front doors by a Minto staff member to be checked-in prior their ice time
Every person entering the facility must wear a mask
On-ice participants must wear a mask until leaving the staging area, to go onto the ice

Dressing room usage is no longer permitted, coaches and skaters must arrive fully dressed and must tie skates on the chairs and benches provided in the hallways between arenas. Room 2 will still be used as the access point for entering the Don Jackson surface.
 (parents of children who are unable to tie their skates may enter to do so then must immediately exit the building up the middle staircase)

Physical distancing must be maintained at all times, for all people entering the Minto Skating Centre
All participants must follow the current protocols in place for use of the facility during this time
Exiting the Facility
Once the session has ended, all patrons must use the dedicated exit to immediately leave the building


The sessions will be 50 minutes in length.   This is to comply with the rules and protocols of the public health authorities and the Minto Skating Center. Anyone with symptoms related to COVID-19 shall not attend a session. All participants must attend wearing full equipment, as use of the dressing rooms is prohibited. Participants must leave fully dressed. Registered participants cannot enter the arena until the EARLIEST 15 minutes before the session in which they are registered. They must promptly depart the facility afterwards. Use of shower facilities are prohibited. There will be no collections of money or registration on site. All participants must pre-register and specify the date and time of session that they wish to attend. Social distancing in the facility must be respected at all times. Everyone should protect themselves accordingly.  Please respect all directives issued by public health authorities.Arrival time must not be any more than 15 minutes before the scheduled ice time. Upon arrival at the rink, skaters and coaches are to use the front entrance of the building, entering using the right hand doors and following the arrows to the right hand staircase leading down to dressing room area. Parents cannot enter the facility. All skaters and coaches must arrive at the rink fully dressed ( skates can be carried.) It is important to note that with there are currently no settings with zero risk. The risk of transmission in any setting will increase when physical distancing, respiratory etiquette and hand hygiene practices are not followe
